The Flying Tour

I have taken plenty of photos using my main camera but here is a flavour of the trip by plane from North Shore to Taurangi, onto Rotorua, Taupo and back to North Shore.

The weather has been poor and the trip became limited but flying along the coast and over the strange volcanic landscape has been worth every minute (and dollar). I even managed a time at the controls.

The flying part of the trip has now ended and I am spending a few days with friends in Whangaparaorora before heading off to the Coromandel.

Cloudy, cold and rainy even in New Zealand

Big weather change so the planned four or five days of flying around the coast if North Island in a four seater is on hold until the weather is back to normal.

Pics show the plane and the alternative occupation - eating in a garden centre, Kiwi style.

Wedding Day

After a wet and miserable day on Thursday I have woken up to a glorious summer's day in New Zealand and although the forecast is a bit mixed it looks good for an outdoor wedding.

Up North

For those who haven't been able to follow my Geospike postings on Face Book here are some photos of the short holiday to the Bay of Islands.

The Wedding of Tom & Rose

Just a few photos from my iPhone as I don't have the means to download the ones I took with my Sony NEX 7

Takapuna Beach at sunset

Not a lot to say about these photos except to say how stunning the setting is.

Had a truly exceptional meal at the Takapuna Beach Cafe - I even had a double chocolate gelato (ice cream) for pudding - and then a stroll along the beach with shafts of evening sunlight breaking through the clouds and some rain falling at altitude making a most spectacular series of rainbows.
